Skin rash , shingles , increased blood pressure , abnormal blood test , fever , headache , nausea , vomiting , diarrhea ; or cold symptoms such as stuffy nose , sneezing , sore throat.

Drug Interactions

Tofacitinib is not recommended to be used in combination with other biologic disease-modifying anti-rheumatic drugs (DMARDs) or potent immunosuppressive agents such as azathioprine or cyclosporine.

Indication

It is used for the treatment of the following inflammatory diseases: • Rheumatoid arthritis • Psoriatic arthritis • Ulcerative colitis • Ankylosing spondylitis • Polyarticular juvenile idiopathic arthritis and juvenile psoriatic arthritis.

When not to Use

If you are allergic to tofacitinib or any of the other ingredients of this medicine. If you have a severe infection such as bloodstream infection or active tuberculosis , if you have been informed that you have severe liver problems, including cirrhosis (scarring of the liver) , if you are pregnant or breast-feeding.

Warning 1

Tell your physician right away if you start to have swelling of your face, lips, tongue, throat, arms, or legs or if you are having trouble swallowing or breathing.

Warning 2

Tofacitinib can temporarily lower the number of white blood cells in your blood, increasing the chance of getting an infection.

Warning 3

This medicine may increase your risk of developing blood clots (eg, arterial thrombosis, deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism).
