      How it works

      Levocetirizine works by blocking the release of a chemical called histamine from the cells in your body. This helps relieve symptoms of allergies, such as sneezing, runny nose, and red, watery, itchy eyes. This drug also helps relieve itching caused by hives.

      Allergic reaction like swelling of the mouth, face and/or throat or swallowing difficulties together with hives (angioedema), breathing difficulties or a sudden fall in blood pressure leading to collapse or shock, which may be fatal , Seizures , Recurring thoughts of, or preoccupation with, suicide , Dry mouth , Headache , Tiredness , Somnolence/downiness , Exhaustion , Abdominal pain , Aggression , Agitation , Visual disturbances , Palpitations , Nausea , Diarrhoea , Inflammation of the liver , Pruritus (itchiness) .

      Drug Interactions

      Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken or might take any other medicines .

      Indication

      Levocetirizine is an anti-allergic agent. It is used to treat symptoms associated with allergic conditions, such as: – hay fever – year round allergies such as dust or pet allergies – chronic allergic rhinitis (including persistent allergic rhinitis) – nettle rash (urticaria) .

      When not to Use

      Do not take Levocetirizine dihydrochloride if you are allergic to levocetirizine or to other antihistamines (eg. Cetirizine hydroxyzine) or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.If you suffer from severe kidney failure (severe renal failure with creatinine clearance below 10ml/min) .

      Precaution

      Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking Levocetirizine dihydrochloride If you are likely to be unable to be unable to empty your bladder (due to conditions such as a spinal cord injury or enlarged prostate), please ask your doctor for advice.

      Atiza Tablets Warnings

      Warning 1

      You should be cautious if you take levocetirizine at the same time as alcohol as it may cause a reduction in alertness and affect your performance.

      Warning 2

      Studies in healthy people have shown no effect on the ability to drive or use machines. However in some patients levocetirizine may cause sleepiness/drowsiness, tiredness and exhaustion. Use caution when driving or operating machinery until you know this medicine affects you.

      Warning 3

      It contain lactose; if you have been told by your doctor that you have an intolerance to some sugars contact your doctor before taking this medicine.
