This medicine is used to lighten the dark patches of skin (also called hyperpigmentation, melasma, "liver spots," "age spots," freckles) caused by pregnancy, birth control pills, hormone medicine, or injury to the skin.

It can cause Severe skin redness, burning, or stinging,severe skin dryness, cracking, or bleeding.
It is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients listed.
Before using this medication, tell your doctor or pharmacist your medical history, especially of other skin conditions (e.g., eczema, psoriasis).
Avoid unecessary exposure to sunlight
Do not apply near eyes, to cut, abraded, or sunburned skin, after shaving or using a depilatory agent; or over miliaria rubra (prickly heat)
Use with caution if you are using another topical antibiotic as well
