It is used for the treatment of constipation and hepatic encephalopathy.
It can cause Vomiting, nausea, dyspepsia, loss of potassium, muscle cramps, headache, flatulence and abdominal distension.
It is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to the drug.
Before using Lactitol inform your doctor if you have galactosemia, intestinal obstruction, abdominal cramp or iatrogenic hypersensitivity.
If you are taking this medication by mouth for constipation, take it usually once daily or as directed by your doctor.
Chewable tablets or dissolving strips may contain sugar. Caution is advised if you have diabetesor any other condition that requires you to limit/avoid sugar in your diet
Please consult your doctor when taking this medicine if you are pregnant.
It can interact with Antacids, Anti-Hypertensive, Broad spectrum antibiotics and diuretics.
