      How it works

      Mechanism of Action of Meclizine : Meclizine produces Antiemetic action by its central action on Chemoreceptor trigger zone (CTZ). It decreases the sensitivity of Labyrinth apparatus which transmit stimuli to the CTZ and stimulates the vomiting center. Meclizine produces antivertigo action by decreasing the excitability of middle ear labyrinth. It blocks the conduction in the middle ear vestibular path ways. Meclizine is a potent H1 receptor antihistaminic agent. It has anticholinergic activity also About Vit B6 Physiological functions: It is involved as a coenzyme (Pyridoxal phosphate) in metabolism of tryptophan, in several metabolic transformations of amino acids including transamination, decarboxylation & racemization.

      Side Effects

      Drowsiness, dry mouth, constipation, stomach disorders and more rarely eye disorders (glaucoma). Less frequently, balance and movement disorders, nervousness and even insomnia may be observed.

      Drug Interactions

      Navidoxine may potentiate the effects of other drugs or food acting on the central nervous system (sedatives, sleeping pills, alcohol). These undesirable effects may also be increased when it is used simultaneously with other drugs having similar properties.

      Indication

      It is indicated in adult and adolescent over 12 years old, for the prevention and symptomatic treatment of nausea, vomiting and vertigo associated with motion sickness.

      When not to Use

      Do not take: If you are allergic to active substance or any of the other ingredients of this medicine . -In children under 12 years of age, - In patients suffering from prostate or liver insufficiency and those having angle closure glaucoma .

      Navidoxine Tablets Precautions

      Precaution

      It should be used with caution in case of urinary retention, digestive or urinary obstruction, in some cases of excessive muscular fatigue (myasthenia), decreased gastro- intestinal motility, in case of treatment with some drugs (antidepressants, hypnotics and tranquillizers) and in case of alcohol intake .

      Navidoxine Tablets Warnings

      Warning 1

      Special precaution is recommended when administering this medicine to elderly patients (sensitivity to undesirable effects) and to patients driving a car or operating dangerous machinery (risk of sedation).

      Warning 2

      In case of prolonged use, there is a risk of dental caries and, in elderly and mentally ill patients, a risk of confusion. Elderly patients will start treatment at reduced dose for a limited time period.

      Warning 3

      Treatment should be stopped four days before allergy testing to avoid effects on the test results.
