Diagnosis
Contact lens discoloration.
It is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to the drug.
Caution is to be exercised in patients with a history of allergy or bronchial asthma.
Remove contact lenses prior to procedure; flush the eye(s) with sterile, 0.9% Sodium Chloride Irrigation, and wait at least 1 hour before replacing lenses.
Detailed questioning of each patient is recommended before the angiography to evaluate any prior history of allergy.
It has been shown to be excreted in human milk for up to 4 days; therefore, breast-feeding should be discontinued for at least 4 days following fluorescein administration, and the milk should be pumped and discarded during this time period.
